About Citrus College:
Celebrating over 100 years of service, Citrus College is located in Glendora in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, approximately twenty-five miles northeast of metropolitan Los Angeles. The college has the distinction of being the oldest community college in Los Angeles County and the fifth oldest in the state.

Citrus College was founded in 1915 under the leadership of Dr. Floyd S. Hayden, who helped bring the community college movement to California. From 1915 to 1961, the college was operated by the Citrus Union High School District. In July 1961, the Citrus Community College District was created to include the Azusa and Glendora unified school districts. In 1967, the district expanded to include the Claremont, Duarte and Monrovia school districts.

Today, Citrus College occupies a 104-acre campus. The college is currently experiencing a major facilities expansion project that will change the look of the campus. The college enrolled 27 students in 1915 and currently the college serves more than 19,000 students annually. Classes are offered on a 16-week calendar (fall and spring semesters), as well as in a variety of non-traditional scheduling options -- winter intersession, evenings, summer sessions, and optional class formats, such as online education courses.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Chief Information Services Officer, the Technology Operations and Support Services Supervisor provides direction and supervision for the comprehensive desktop and instructional technology operations and support services. Ensures consistent and efficient service to college personnel, students, and the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day-to-day supervision, coordination and operation of desktop computing resources and related applications including planning, purchasing and implementing the configuration of client desktop computing hardware, software and peripherals.
- Administers Helpdesk operations and field technical staff in matters relating to the installation, maintenance, and repair of desktop computers, instructional support equipment, and relevant software.
- Negotiates service-level agreements to maintain service-level objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures the successful and timely resolution of service requests by providing excellent customer service.
- Collaboratively develops standards for acquisition and support of desktop computing hardware and software; coordinates the acquisition of desktop computing hardware and software, and plans for the replacement and lifecycle management of desktop, lab and e-classroom computers
- Oversees end-user technology training for staff and faculty.
- Works with Instructional Services to develop criteria and specifications for new instructional technology equipment; arranges for displays, demonstrations, testing and evaluations and training in the use of the latest equipment; procures and administers emerging instructional technologies that support the college mission.
- Establishes college-wide desktop and instructional equipment purchasing standards.
- Evaluates and authorizes desktop and instructional equipment purchase requisitions for all departments and divisions.
- Oversees maintenance of records on hardware and software resources for desktop and instructional equipment support.
- Works with Instructional Services to identify technology requirements for classrooms and instructional labs and define replacement cycles.
- Engages in activities to keep current with computer desktop and instructional technologies to proactively administer instructional and desktop technologies for the college.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of direct reports and student assistants.
- Serves as chairperson for the appropriate shared governance committees.
- Participates on technology management team including but not limited to annual budgeting and strategic planning.
- Maintains positive working relationships with other departments on campus.
- Communicates District policy and administrative decisions to assigned personnel and students.
- Administers the collective bargaining agreements among the District and the classified union.
- Creates an atmosphere of collegiality and supports the goals of participatory governance.
- Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel.
- Resolves conflict.
- Insures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the District's mission and philosophy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Management skills with policy and budget formation including preparation and administration of the annual budget.
- Knowledge of Desktop software standards, upgrade procedures, and maintenance activities to achieve the highest possible reliability and accessibility of computer systems.
- Customer service protocol with a customer-service oriented priority.
- Ability to perform all of the relevant duties of the position with only general direction.
- Ability to work effectively in a shared governance environment.
- Ability to provide customer support from a management level.
- Ability to provide customer service protocol with a customer service-oriented priority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience supervising a technology help desk in a college or university environment.
- Prior experience hiring, scheduling and supervising temporary staff such as student workers.
- Prior experience scheduling and conducting software training classes for end users.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or a related field, and a minimum of eight years of related experience.
