Systems Infrastructure Manager

Position Summary:
The Manager, Systems Infrastructure is responsible for leading a team of technical experts in providing secure and reliable compute, storage and system technology infrastructure services to the university while constantly innovating and improving processes and services to provide a positive user experience. The Manager will be responsible for both planning and operations of on-premises and cloud resources in the areas of server platforms, storage, infrastructure integration, identity and access management, and virtualization. To accomplish this task the Manager must collaborate with technology professionals across the university as well as vendors and other parties to understand institutional and user needs and deliver both standard and innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Seven years of progressive experience in developing, installing, and maintaining technology infrastructure.
Two years of experience team building, motivating, mentoring, training, and leading a diverse and highly technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or higher degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience working in technology infrastructure in higher education.
Experience developing positive relationships with customers, peers, supervisors, vendors, and other partners.
Experience working in a customer service-oriented team environment to accomplish shared goals.
Experience managing multiple complex multi-stakeholder technology projects with competing deadlines.
Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing and implementing solutions to resolve problems.

Identity and Access Management
Directory Services (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory)
Microsoft Office 365 tenancy and service administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
Ansible and other tools which automate server operating system configuration
Network management and security
Scripting tools
Data protection
Documentation management
Security standards, tools and procedures
