Position Description:
As a member of the Facilities Management Information Technology (FMIT) team, the Senior System Administrator designs, develops, tests, and moderates complex application solutions on Facilities Management business applications. The incumbent collaborates with team members to conduct thorough analyses of customer requirements, produces detailed design specifications, develops technical documentation and analytical reports and provides ongoing support. The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources.

The incumbent serves as a technical lead for the operation of the Facilities Management Billing Application (which is responsible for tracking and billing of over $100M campus-wide building, maintenance and repair projects) and interface systems accessing UCPath and Campus data warehouse. The incumbent maintains the application billing rules and conformity to accounting procedures and University policies, and submission of monthly billing transaction file to the Campus Financial System General Ledger while adhering to ledger specifications and changes thereon. Incumbent is responsible for phases of the systems development life cycle for web-based programs including Facilities Service requests, Billing on the Web, Maximo Purchasing App, Kronos Time and Attendance, and backend middleware software use to interface with human resource databases, payroll systems and directory, dashboards and reports applications. Incumbent maintains existing critical programs which have shifted from foreground to backend middleware due to UC-wide transitioning to new systems (UCPath and other future upgrades).

Additional responsibilities include conducting research of emerging technologies and industry practices; making recommendations regarding best practices and technologies for adoption, and providing input to continual improvement activities for assigned projects. The incumbent also collaborates with product owners, business analysts and subject matter experts to develop business and functional requirements and propose application solutions.

Incumbent works with minimal supervision and establishes priorities based on multiple deadlines.
