Programmer/Analyst (Lead Developer)

The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness is currently seeking a Lead Developer to lead our dynamic team of developers in establishing and managing best development and design practices for a wide variety of web-based learning products. This position will require an experienced developer and communicator to work with users to analyze requirements; provide specialized guidance to other staff; design, develop, test, implement, debug, and modify new or existing software applications, and prepare test plans and write documentation. This candidate should have a strong background using MEAN/LAMP. Familiarity with Ruby is a plus. Additionally, the candidate should have experience developing and working with RESTful APIs. The successful candidate must possess strong writing and oral communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal, project management, and managerial skills. Familiarity with the AGILE development process is a plus. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and effectively in both independent and collaborative settings. The candidate will actively develop at the expert level, implement, review, and evaluate results on complex work assignments and provide technology leadership in the advancement of the Clearinghouse's technology needs. For the right candidate, and under the appropriate circumstances, the option for remote work is available for discussion. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge of git workflow techniques is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
