Job Description
Position Summary:
Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for the position of Network & Systems Administrator . The Network & Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, support, and documentation of Nevada State College technology infrastructure systems. Essential job functions include monitoring and ensuring operational continuity of mission critical network, telecommunication, server, and storage systems; researching, installing, configuring, and maintaining network, telecommunication, server, and storage hardware; providing and managing data center backup and disaster recovery; providing and managing information security, including network, data center, and directory services and working with other Information & Technology Services units to develop end-to-end solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

Implement, configure, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and monitor campus network and telecommunication systems
Implement, configure, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and monitor campus server and storage infrastructure and systems
Manage network and data center security including configuring, supporting, testing, and monitoring campus firewalls, access control lists, intrusion detection/protection systems, directory services, etc.
Develop, manage, maintain, test, and monitor disaster recovery and data backup/restoration services for mission critical systems

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field or ten (10) years of professional experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge
Five (5) years of experience in network administration
Five (5) years of experience in system administration
Five (5) years of experience in information security

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience administering network/server infrastructure in large, complex multi-user environments
Experience with server virtualization
Experience with scripting and system automation
Experience with Cisco, Nutanix, and VMWare

Salary & Benefits
Budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 14.5% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of two health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
