Required Qualifications:
Experience installing access control systems or related technology.
Experience installing door hardware (e.g. hinges, crash bars, lock sets, sensors, badge readers, electrified lever sets)
Experience installing low voltage cabling
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience installing access control systems or related technology.
Experience supporting IP network devices such as security cameras, and IP phones
Job Description:
The Network Technician will be primarily responsible for installing cabling, card readers, control panels, door hardware and all other components associated with electronic door access. He or she will also be responsible for conducting assessments for electronic access requests, for evaluating related technology, hardware, and software, and for providing long-term technical support of installed systems. Secondary duties will include installation of network and telephone cables, troubleshooting and support of telephones, cabling, and voice /data network components
Job Duties:
Journey level installation and repair of electronic access control equipment.
Installation, splicing and repair of copper and fiber optic cabling facilities and infrastructure.
Assist in design and documentation of communications technology infrastructure.
Complete projects according to standards based practices/procedures.
Collaboration with office of Planning, Design, and Construction for design development, inspections, budgeting, scheduling and other aspects of special and capital construction projects.
Document network equipment locations and end-user data port assignments, and perform updates as needed.
Other duties as assigned
