Job Summary

The Department of University Information and Technology Services at Columbus State University invites applications for a Manager, Enterprise Software Applications. The Manager, Enterprise Software Applications position is a professional position in the Application Development and Support team within Enterprise Software. Provides
programming and application development leadership and support for the Ellucian Banner student records system. Responsible for leading the designing, developing, implementing and maintaining of complex web-based and computer-based administrative information systems across multiple platforms serving all areas of the university. This position will be versatile in many programming languages and technologies and possess strong analytic capabilities to create innovative solutions. Reports to the Executive Director of Operations and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide oversight and leadership of the Enterprise Software team
  • Reviews and guides software development in line with the university's strategic goals and initiatives
  • Creates, builds, and maintains software solutions using a variety of modern technologies
  • Contributes to the design, architecture, and final implementation of software applications to be used by the university
  • Participates in code reviews with staff as necessary to ensure a high quality performing applications
  • Contribute to all aspects of the software creation process: Software architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, post-deployment production support, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Extensive experience in analyzing code for problem-resolution, and performance optimization
  • Meet with end-users to determine needs, requirements, expectations, timelines, correctness, and consistency among applications, reports, databases, etc
  • Self-starter, responsible for staying up to date with new and emerging technologies in enterprise software and software development
  • Represents the U.I.T.S. department and university in professional meetings and conferences
  • Provide recommendations and proposals to the Executive Director of Operations and Infrastructure regarding new projects, and operational efficiency
  • Document solutions with appropriate documentation, diagrams, and outlines
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming


Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and five years of leadership and programming experience, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience working in partnership with other personnel and in a project team environment; experience and knowledge in Ellucian Banner Student Information System; extensive database design knowledge; and extensive knowledge in multiple programming skills (i.e. SQL, Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Python, C++, Pl/SQL).

The candidate must also have a demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service; excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to work logically through problems and develop optimal solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include knowledge in Ellucian Banner Student System, Ellucian Banner Workflow, Evisions/Argos and/or other Reporting Solution, and SQL Navigator, Toad, or similar. Other preferred qualifications include experience working in information technology in a University environment and application development experience.

Proposed Salary

The annualized salary range for this position is $75,162 - $83,432.
