Penn State Mont Alto invites applications for a part-time Instructor position to teach IST 210 (Organization of Data) and SRA 221 (Overview of Information Security) for the Spring 2019 semester. Additional information about IST 210: To provide an introduction to the storage, retrieval, manipulation, analysis and display of information. Faculty will introduce data structures, physical storage devices and access, database models and database management systems architectures, database analysis and design, query languages, user interface design, database administration and policy and social concerns in data management. Instructor will guide students to learn to use a commercial database management system and group assignments and projects, and other performance indicators. Students are to be periodically assessed through examinations, individual and group assignments and projects, and other performance indicators. Additional information about SRA 221: Knowledge of the fundamental concepts and issues of information security with the ability to convey how data and networks are commonly protected and defended through encryption, authentication, and access control techniques, as well as knowledge of well-known software security threats, attack vectors, and relevant countermeasures. The start date for this position is January 2019, and the one semester contract may be renewable. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in a relevant field or possess commensurate practical experience in information technology and security.
