Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Learning Design, Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL), and situated within Academic Affairs, this position supports the discovery, exploration, prototyping, piloting, evaluating, and reporting of emerging and established technologies and platforms. In collaboration with learning designers and the Sr. Learning Technologist, s/he promotes and facilitates the effective and sustainable use of technology in teaching and learning via consultation, needs assessment, and systematic evaluation. S/he serves as technical expert for supported platforms via deep understanding of affordances and limitations of various configurations and an evolving insight into the learner's experience.

Job-Specific Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
Advises on core functionality of support platforms by establishing comprehensive knowledge of tool functionality, including a deep understanding of affordances and limitations of various configurations.
Explores extensions and integrations into supported online learning platforms to help meet design goals.
Builds content on supported online learning platforms with a high degree of fidelity to design plans.
Develops custom interactive elements to enhance the learner's experience.
Creatively problem solves by prioritizing and framing technological solutions and approaches to enable innovative learning design and realistic production.


This is a term position with an end date of 9/30/2020 with possibility of extension.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of two years related experience
Previous experience with basic HTML programming;
Familiarity with modern learning management systems (Canvas preferred)

Additional Qualifications
Bachelors degree strongly preferred
Experience with learning analytics and evaluation
Experience working in a higher education environment
Advanced familiarity with HTML
Experience authoring in a LMS (Canvas preferred)
Experience authoring in Storyline/Captivate, etc.

Proven understanding of tools for teaching, including emerging technologies
Ability to stay abreast of the changing educational technology landscape
Ability to plan and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within work group and across departments
Excellent written and communication skills
