Basic Function:
The Department of Humanities and Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a full-time continuing lecturer position in Chinese, starting August 2017. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; the position carries a full package of University benefits.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Job Responsibilities: this position will be a combination of teaching higher level of Chinese language (up to 15 credit hours, or five 7-week classes per year) and administrative work as the associate director of WPIs China Hub.

    Position Requirements

  • Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a Masters degree in Chinese linguistics, Chinese pedagogy or a related field; native or near-native command of both Chinese and English; experience in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at the college level in the U.S.; evidence of effective and high quality teaching; and familiarity with current methods and technologies in foreign language teaching.
