Information Security Analyst Lead- Compliance (Hybrid), Digital Technology Solutions

Job Overview
Assist in designing, recommending, performing, and providing technical and administrative solutions to support the university's information security and compliance initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Carry out procedures to ensure that all systems, products, and services meet organization security standards.

  • Lead internal effort to provide artifacts to Governance Risk & Compliance in relation to internal & external audits.

  • Lead risk and cybersecurity readiness assessments including maturity assessments using the accepted industry models - NIST, ISO, CMMC and related.

  • Work with business units to achieve security objectives. Identify, report, and resolve security risks and violations.

  • Support the formulation of information security strategies, policies, standards, and procedures for the protection of sensitive data.

  • Maintain documentation and metrics to support internal and external audits, assessments, reviews, partnerships, and other engagements to support compliance objectives.

  • Advocate and provide information security consultation on UC projects initiative within the business and development of systems.

  • Advocate for, develop and deliver information security education and training to internal and external partners.

  • Ensure that information security environments support UC privacy policies and state and federal laws.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant security regulatory compliance requirements and translate those into business processes and security controls to enhance and support organizational compliance and audit capabilities.

  • Manage compliance-related projects and initiatives from initiation to deployment.

  • Support the process for tracking system gaps and weaknesses to closure including a Plan of Action and Milestones process for NIST/CMMC and related compliance.

  • Lead the continual maintenance and improvement of NIST/CMMC and related compliance.

  • Serve as a technical or peer leader by providing guidance and mentoring more junior analysts.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and other university partners.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.


Required Trainings/Certifications
Industry standard certifications relevant to job duties: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CMMC Certified Assessor, Certified Professional, Registered Professional, or equivalent.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years related experience.

  • Possess broad and deep knowledge of own area and related areas; contribute through advanced knowledge, skill, and experience.

  • Understanding of control standards NIST 800-171, CMMC, and control testing strategies.


Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience conducting technical or procedural audits.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
