Position Summary:
This is an Information Technology Specialist position within the Seattle Colleges IT Enterprise Applications & Integration Team. This business analyst position works closely with college business stakeholders and IT team members to help understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design to develop quality technical solutions.

Essential Functions:

Application Design, Development, and Testing
  • Design, documentation, development, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance for applications and systems.
  • Perform complex programming in the development and implementation of interface, identity, and web systems with emphasis on minimizing support and maintenance requirements.
  • Leads developing application specifications and in providing support for customer applications.
  • Estimate work, provide completion times, and demonstrate personal accountability to agreed upon schedules and milestones.

Analysis and Documentation
  • Consult with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Conduct moderate to complex analysis and design tasks for the development of interface, identity, and web systems.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Serve as a liaison between college business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues.
  • Participate on IT project workgroups and be involved in the design phase of software development projects.


Required Education, Experience & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related area of study.
  • At least 3 years application development and project management experience.
