Technology Support Services (TSS) provides information technology, help desk support, computer and software implementation, telephone/network support, and technology purchasing. The Executive Director will lead and direct the College's Technology Support Services (TSS), providing organizational and administrative oversight over the operations and maintenance of the computing and telecommunications facilities, infrastructure, and equipment, and all and hosted systems. In addition to day-to-day administrative oversight, the Executive Director will also provide a strategic approach to technology planning. Key responsibilities in this role include oversite of all aspects of technology, security, and regulatory compliance, budget preparation and management, recommendations for technical acquisitions, and development of guidelines, standards, and procedures, and services that meet the needs of the administrative, educational, and grant programs of the College.

Essential Job Duties
  • In collaboration with stakeholders, develop and maintain a strategic technology plan in alignment with College goals
  • Manage the reliable delivery of all technology systems, functions and services to campus and other partners
  • Administer technology programs and systems to ensure they meet security requirements; including the development and implementation of policies and standards for security while maintaining accessibility/usability
  • Provide overall direction and management of Technology Support Services unit
  • Prepare and administer budget, including determination of staffing and operational requirements
  • Direct and supervise assigned staff; recruit, train, coach and assure employee performance, building an effective team that is responsive to the needs of the College
  • Conduct regular unit meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building, provide staff growth paths, and assess and monitor work standards
  • Prioritize and allocate resources; review and evaluate programs ensuring maximum service delivery
  • Represent TSS within the College, the community, in professional organizations, with commissions and other agencies
  • Keep current with legal updates that may affect TSS operations; direct the implementation of policy changes as needed
  • Develop long-range strategies and network infrastructure for data and telecommunications
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the College; keep current with technology trends/research for recommendations to use
  • Manage the development and implementation of software/hardware upgrades in compliance within College standards
  • Administer the feasibility assessment as well as develop/design/implement system enhancements where appropriate
  • Establish College-wide infrastructure to support and guide units in technology needs
  • Manage or direct the management of ongoing integrity/continual operation of the campus network including the inter- and intra-building wiring plan and wireless networks
  • Provide administrative oversight for the development and review all backup and disaster recovery procedures/plans
  • Oversee IT-related aspects of College construction and renovation projects


Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Five (5) years of administrative experience with technology operations/staff management
  • Bachelor's degree in Management in Information Systems & Services, Management in Technology, Business Administration in Management, or related field OR equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word programs
  • Applications, platforms, and programs, including cloud-based architecture, for complex technology services function
  • Trends and innovations in information technology and their application to higher education
  • Data preservation and computer forensic procedures
  • Budgeting best practices and effective fund management within authorized amounts
  • Microsoft Windows environments/applications applicable to higher education
  • TCP/IP networks supporting VoIP telephony, microcomputers, and other systems
  • Systems development/maintenance/troubleshooting and complex project management
  • Network hardware, client/server technology and Internet/intranet applications
  • Service delivery frameworks; cybersecurity prevention, end-user training, and mitigation
Skill in:
  • Applying best practices and procedures in Technology Support Services
  • Analysis and application of data and telecommunications systems and network security principles
  • Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and competence
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels

Conditions of Employment

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). Administrators are assigned to work on campus, noting there may be some opportunities to work remotely based on program or area needs. If authorized for limited remote work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. When working on-campus, this position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, using the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. This position also works work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:
This is a full-time administrative/exempt annually contracted position with initial salary placement determined by the College dependent upon education/experience. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.

New Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000/annual
