The Position

Fielding Graduate University is an accredited non-profit leader in progressive graduate education for adult learners. Our curriculum combines online, video, and face-to-face approaches for a personalized transformative learning experience. We offer quality graduate degrees for professionals living, working, and studying anywhere in the world. We are seeking a full-time doctoral faculty to work remotely for our graduate Education (EdD) programs to begin in May 2023.

Fielding's faculty members are distinguished scholar-practitioners. They serve as mentors for self-directed students who apply their education to support social justice and inclusive communities, workplaces, and society. Faculty members facilitate learning through structured group online courses, virtual sessions, and individual assessments for students who choose to complete some coursework through independent learning contracts. They supervise doctoral dissertations and help students to develop research competencies. Core faculty lead virtual and in-person events including student clusters, regional learning intensives, and scholar-practitioner offerings at in-person sessions, including an annual January session in Santa Barbara, California.

The EdD in Leadership for Change is a multidisciplinary degree for scholarpractitioners who want to expand their capacities to bring about positive change in today's non-profit and for-profit organizations, educational institutions, human services entities, and communities. This degree is focused on topics such as leadership, complex systems change, community and societal well-being, and the people within them. It promotes positive development and growth of individuals, institutions, organizations, systems, and communities. It spans the fields of adult learning and development, human resources management, cultural influences in education and organizations, motivation, public policy, nonprofit and institutional systems effectiveness, leadership and change models, structural inequality and diversity, among others. This multidisciplinary approach supports the development of integrative scholar-practitioners.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, this role will have an administrative component, overseeing student recruitment and the New Student Orientation for the doctoral program. It is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in student recruitment and development, as well as some administrative skills.
