Brief Position Overview
This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in courses required for the Associates of Applied Science (AAS) in Microcomputer Support, Network Support and Security, Computer Programming, and Cybersecurity; a Certificate of Technical Studies (CST) in Cybersecurity; and other computer-related courses as assigned. This position will also help the college maintain its designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. In addition, this position has the opportunity to work with other institutions of higher education and industry partners.

General Statement
This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in courses required for the Associates of Applied Science (AAS) in Microcomputer Support, Network Support and Security, Computer Programming, and Cybersecurity; a Certificate of Technical Studies (CST) in Cybersecurity; and other computer-related courses as assigned. This position will also help the college maintain its designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. In addition, this position has the opportunity to work with other institutions of higher education and industry partners.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction in courses required for the Associates of Applied Science (AAS) and Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) programs and other computer-related courses;
Develop syllabi, courses, curriculum, and assessment instruments;
Prepare course materials; and use appropriate teaching techniques, which may include but are not limited to delivering lectures, leading discussions, and conducting laboratory projects:
Demonstrate the ability to use various educational technical aids to improve student learning;
Develop a wide range of real-world learning experiences for students;
Instruct students on the safe and ethical use of information technologies;
Maintain professional skills and technical expertise through continual study, certifications, and involvement in professional organizations; and
Serve on committees for the College and the General Studies Division, including working with student groups and advisory boards.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Associate or Bachelor degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, computer-based information systems, educational technology, cybersecurity, or other computer related field
Fluency in modern web technologies — HTML5 and CSS3
Expertise in one of the following areas:
CISCO Networking
Computer Repair & Maintenance
Microsoft Server, or
Cybersecurity
Experience teaching people of varying abilities;
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; and
Ability to work positively with teams and individuals with diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and interests.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master's degree in computer-related field;
Knowledge of data modeling and relational databases
Fluency in programming in Python, Java, JavaScript, or PHP (or related server-side technology)
Knowledge of the theory and practice of software development methodologies, i.e. Waterfall and/or Agile
Possess CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft server certifications;
Have security certifications such as Security +, CYSSP;
Experience teaching computer technology or other related computer courses in a post-secondary setting;
Experience in designing curriculum; and
Experience teaching online.
