Job Description

This position will provide quality experience based instruction to Information Technology Systems students in, classroom, laboratory, and on-line learning environments. Key responsibilities include:
  • Deliver quality, experience-based instruction and hands-on laboratory activities designed to prepare students for successful entry into the workforce
  • Collaboratively work with program faculty, the Department Chair, and Technical Advisory Committee members to develop and maintain program curriculum
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain state certification and engage in lifelong learning
  • Collaboratively work with program faculty and administrators to continuously assess and improve the program. This will include collecting data to assess student outcomes, participating in meetings to discuss and assess the quality of the program, and developing reports for the program review process.
  • Actively participate in departmental, college, university, and community professional service opportunities
  • Recruit and advise Information Technology Systems students
  • Develop and maintain quality relationships with business/industry and other employers

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a postsecondary Limited Occupational Specialist (LOS) certificate (or higher) from the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education, including meeting one of the following criteria:
  1. Hold or have held an approved industry certification in a field closely related to the content area in which the individual seeks to teach as defined by the division of career technical education;
  2. Demonstrate a minimum of 6,000 industry hours-50% of which occurred in the past five years-of professional experience in a field closely related to the content area you want to teach; OR
  3. Hold a baccalaureate degree in a field closely related to the content area in which the individual seeks to teach and demonstrate 2,000 hours-50% of which occurred in the past five years-of professional experience in a field closely related to the content area you want to teach
  • Hold Cisco Instructor certification in IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software (CompTIA A+), or be willing to obtain it through training/testing within two years of hire
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six or more years of full-time, successful, recent, gainful employment in an Information Technology related occupation
  • Three or more years teaching/training experience in a professional or educational setting
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop, Server or cloud certification
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2022
  • CompTIA A+ certifications
Additional Information

Salary will be between $55,000 and $68,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
