Indiana Tech's Department of Marketing and Communication is seeking a talented User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer—responsible for creating and maintaining a remarkable user experience on the university's website, IndianaTech.edu.


You will be the visual architect of our website, responsible for creating and presenting thoughtful design solutions that address audience needs, are informed by marketing data and are in accordance with brand and accessibility standards. You will also be tasked with maintaining and/or enhancing our existing web environment as needs arise, based on data, user feedback and university priorities. You will also have the opportunity to design digital assets such as social media graphics and digital ads in support of our team's work overall.



This is a collaborative position that works closely with all departmental colleagues (which include a web developer, a director of marketing and communication, a creative director, a photo and video director, two graphic designers and a VP for marketing and communication) and other key stakeholders across the university.



Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Ideation, from concept to completion.
Developing and presenting low-fi to hi-fi interactive prototypes and wireframes.
Collaborating with graphic designers to maintain a consistent brand style and digital strategy.
Monitoring user analytics and tracking user journeys to identify the best ways to reach prospective students.
Conducting user interviews and testing to maximize site performance.
Administering training sessions with approved content editors.
Working closely with clients to understand their needs with empathy curiosity and respect.


Qualifications

General front-end design of digital content.
Detailed experience in standard digital interface software such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD.
Detailed working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Design psychology.
Traditional UX methodologies.
Real-time collaboration and teamwork.

The following are preferred skills:

Writing skills.
Experience coding HTML/CSS/JS.
Experience with content management systems, such as WordPress.
Experience with designing email templates.


Experience

Two-plus years of designing digital solutions for mobile, web and responsive platforms.
Two-plus years presenting to and persuading customers.
More than a year of working with digital data and information hierarchies.
Up-to-date knowledge of popular products, visual trends and interface patterns.
Success at navigating multiple projects and determining priority focus.


Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with occasional local travel. Business contacts and development contacts may be made through evening and weekend social gatherings or events.
