SharePoint Developer - IT

Under the general direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications & Web Services, the SharePoint Developer is responsible for developing and implementing solutions for the college's SharePoint Online environment. The SharePoint Developer is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing and maintaining online applications to support and promote student success and lifelong learning. The SharePoint Developer designs, develops, and implements SharePoint online applications per end-user specifications/requirements, and establishes plans and procedures for the operation of the college intranet/portal, including improvements in website design and accessibility.

Additionally, the SharePoint Developer:

  • Works with the Director of Enterprise Applications and Web Services to create and maintain SharePoint governance.

  • Assists end-users in developing internal processes and procedures related to the use of the college's intranet/portal; provides end-user training for SharePoint applications as needed; Assists end-users in developing test plans; schedules, participates in and plans project meetings; writes and maintains all necessary system, user, and operations documentation.

  • Uses request/project-tracking system to monitor, review, and track assigned tasks.

  • Prepares estimates and status reports on assigned projects and communicates progress with stakeholders.

  • Identifies and suggests improvements in system functionality and efficiency.

  • Works with Moraine Valley staff and vendors in troubleshooting and resolving system challenges with Microsoft O365 applications.

  • Keeps abreast of changes in the field and adopts innovations that lead to improvement of the college's O365 applications.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of five years of experience in SharePoint development and/or administration. Demonstrated track record of performance and achievement in web development and implementation management. Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, MSCA, MCSE or other MS certifications desired.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint Services/Portal Server, Windows Server, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Networking and Support. Knowledge of Microsoft O365 applications, including but not limited to Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate and Teams.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to solve complex software issues and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to effectively present technical information to management, faculty, and staff.

  • Ability to prepare written proposals, user manuals, Web-page specifications, and reports.

  • Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and .NET frameworks, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, XML, jQuery and web services; Knowledge of MS SQL Server and ODBC concepts preferred.


Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 5:15pm, On call 24 hours a day - 7 days a week
Minimum starting salary: $67,340 + Benefits
