Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Management Information Systems/Information Technology
Penn State New Kensington invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Management Information Systems/Information Technology, multi-year non-tenure line appointment, 36 weeks to begin August 2024, or as negotiated.
Primary teaching responsibilities will include introductory and upper-level courses in database construction function and management, management information systems, data analytics, and project management in support of our baccalaureate degree in Information Technology and our associates and baccalaureate degree programs in Business. Other courses may assigned in accordance with campus needs and faculty expertise. The position requires commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered, multidisciplinary environment, and interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology. Teaching assignments may include evening classes and online/hybrid instruction. Remain current in the field through appropriate professional development activities. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students to provide academic and career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities.
A master's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Management or a closely related discipline is required for appointment at the level of Lecturer; a completed PhD is required for appointment at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor. A minimum of one year of previous college-level teaching experience or equivalent is required.
