Job Description:


Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Lead Classroom Support Specialist leads the student and full-time staff that build, maintain, and support classroom technology equipment and systems.


Provide support and training for students, staff, faculty, administration, and outside conference groups in classrooms, labs, and presentation spaces.

Install classroom technology equipment in accordance with departmental standards.

Perform equipment setup, support, and maintenance, and updates for equipment such as laptops, computers, cameras, large screen TV's, videoconferencing units and presentation systems.

Perform problem troubleshooting, research, identification, resolution, follow-up and escalation.

Coordinate the resolution of requests, incidents and problems related to classroom technology.

Manage the overall maintenance and upkeep of classroom technology equipment and systems, including regular cleaning, maintenance, and functionality tests.

Coordinate with other University service departments and external vendors when issues cannot be resolved by classroom support staff.

Ensure that classroom technology systems are maintained and functioning. Develop and deploy alternate equipment solutions and/or setups in case of malfunctioning equipment.

Lead the daily work of the classroom support team, including students and the Classroom Support Specialists.

Direct the student staff including hiring, scheduling, and ongoing performance review.

Develop and deliver classroom technology training for IT staff and student workers.

This is a full-time (40 hours) PSSA Level 4 Clerical Union position.



Requirements:


Associates Degree. in computer, information science or a related field.

Minimum of three years of extensive experience in classroom technology support.

Experience working in a service environment in a college or university setting.

Working knowledge of Crestron and Extron hardware/software, along with traditional audiovisual hardware and configurations.

Working knowledge of Apple and Windows computers and laptops, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software issues.


Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in classroom technology support.

CTS certification from Infocomm International.

Intermediate experience installing and configuring presentation hardware.


At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
