Job Overview

This position uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. You will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The person in this position primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. This position develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.

This individual will be responsible for conducting data analysis, data collection, metrics and measurement, report  writing and development of data trending tools to facilitate rapid problem identification. The person filling this role will play a key part in the overall continuous improvement activities.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $87,000/year.  Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Job Duties
20% - Analyzes ITS data sources coming from human resources, financial, operational and user experience domains working directly with all levels of managers.

Analyzes the interrelationships of data and defines logical aspects of data sets.

Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes the collection of information and data; recommends statistical approaches, trends, sources and uses.

Identifies multivariate strategies.

20% - Assist in the implementation, management and tracking of lean waste reduction activities within ITS .

Create standard operating procedure documentation in coordination team functions involved with collection of metrics and KPIs for ITS products.

20% - Develop and present high level dashboards to ITS leadership.

Develop data trending tools to facilitate rapid problem identification.

Develop, manage and optimize data process flows within ITS product areas and across the division.

20% - Plans long-term statistical studies, including the preparation of proposals, design of survey instruments and determining sampling procedures.

Reviews new software instruments and potential effects on statistical testing.

May make programming modifications.

Keeps abreast of technical advances in storage, documentation and dissemination of computerized data.

Researches and summarizes best practices in field.

15% - Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends.

Prepares reports of studies for internal validation and cross validation studies.

Manages database of ITS business analytics for measurement of performance across the ITS product portfolios and key projects.

5% - May supervise data entry, database management and research analysis of students, support staff and / or lower level analysts.

Information Technology positions are responsible for the security of UC Institutional Information and IT Resources. The incumbent is required to follow all applicable information security policies, procedures, and standards to maintain minimum standards of information security for data, systems and applications. Supervisors are responsible for making sure their staff have appropriate security skills and qualifications, and complete all appropriate and required security training.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis, systems programming and data trends Thorough skills in analysis and consultation. Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.
  • Advanced skills in Google Apps Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
